Monica Wilson received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2003 from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan with a major in Ceramics and Sculpture. She graduated magna cum laude and was awarded both the Barbara E. Scott Brundage and Margaret E. Wise scholarships. From 2005 to the present, Wilson has given artists' talks and or taught Fine Arts at Pewabic Pottery, Brigham Young University, Muskegon Overbrook Gallery, Summers-Knoll School, Blue Lake Fine Arts, Center for Creative Studies, Interlochen Center for Arts and Siena Heights University. In 2012 she won the Emerging Artist Award, juried through the Michigan Ceramic Art Association. She was given Artist-in-Residence at Kripal Kumbh in Jiapur, Rajasthan, India, 2012 and at Maker Works, Ann Arbor, Michigan 2015-2016. Wilson’s work has recently been exhibited in Ann Arbor with WSG Gallery, Clay Gallery, Clay Work Studio and in Detroit at Pewabic Pottery and Detroit Artist Market. Wilson presently teaches ceramics at the Potters Guild and Studio Camelot in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
